Messi gives squad the credit

 
Leo Messi scored the first goal of night after a clever move also involving free kick taker Xavi. Later, the Argentinian said “these three points will give us even more strength to carry on working”.
All of the first team players agreed on the importance of this win at the Nuevo Colombino, and are delighted to be so far ahead in the league table. They highlighted the team effort, in words similar to those of Leo Messi, who said “the whole team has merit” and that the win “will give us even more strength to carry on working”.

Márquez:

“It was very important to maintain the rhythm of previous games, that’s why we don’t let our opponents put pressure on us.”

“There are still lots more games and we have to keep working on a day to day basis. That way we can find our response.”

Dani Alves:

“We always study the opposition and find ways to surprise them and today it worked well. He who works always gets results and today we took advantage of that.”

“We only have to worry about ourselves. We knew the results our other rivals had had, but we left all that aside, because if we think about things like that, then we are losing our focus on our own job.”

Sergio Busquets:

“It is important to get a nice cushion of points before we start playing our direct rivals and then we don’t have to worry so much when we play them.”

“We have to take each game as it comes. We work every day to win games, but we are aware that there are 38 games and we can’t win them all. But we just have to go out there every week and try to win.”
