Hleb arrives in Barcelona
Aleksandr Hleb arrived in Barcelona at midday on Wednesday to undergo a medical before signing for FC Barcelona after agreeing a deal to join the club from Arsenal.
The Belorussian will put pen-to-paper on a three year deal and explained that it is "a dream" to be able to sign for the Blaugrana. "I really like this team. I love it. I will give my best," he said to Barça TV and ww.fcbarcelona.cat.
"I want to win everything"
"I have spoken to Pep Guardiola and it is very important to me that he wants me and I will give my best for the team in order to help win as many trophies as we can," he continued. Asked about the qualities he will bring to Barça, Hleb was modest about his skills. "I cannot talk about myself," he explained. "I will give everything on the pitch, but it is better if the coach and other people say things about me.
First day
After posing for photographs in front of the club crest outside the offices in the Camp Nou complex, Hleb went inside to begin a medical examination with the club doctors, which took place at 4pm and he will then travel to the Hospital de Barcelona for further tests.
If, as expected, Hleb passes the medical today then he will sign a three-year contract with the club on Thursday and be presented to the media as a new FC Barcelona player.
