Keita scores two in Mali’s victory (3-0)

The recently signed Barça player set up the key victory for Mali against Sudan in a World Cup 2010 qualifying game.
After losing against the same team, Sudan, in their last match (3-2), Mali just had to win. This Sunday they hosted Sudan in Bamako needing to get all three points to stay on top of group 10 in the African zone. Goals by Kanouté and Keita, who scored twice, have brought Mali closer to the World Cup in 2010.

Keita is the star

Mali managed to beat Sudan relatively easily in Bamako. A goal by Seville’s Kanouté in the 25th minute opened the scoring and Seydou Keita, Barça’s new player, added two more in the second half in the 60th and 67th minutes to finish off the Sudanese. Keita then picked up a yellow card in stoppage time.
