Six of the players that took part in Wednesday evening’s match in the Bernabéu were absent from Thursday morning’s training session, most of them with injury problems. The four players already on the injury list were also absent from the session.
The Miniestadi witnessed one of the most painful training sessions of the season on Thursday morning with plenty of long faces after last night’s defeat against Real Madrid.

A total of ten players did not take part in the session. Valdés took a knock on his right knee after colliding with Marcelo while Henry picked up a bruise on his left leg. Gudjohnsen, who was taken off in the first half, received a blow to his right foot. For his part, Márquez has a sore left Achilles tendon.

Meanwhile, Ezquerro was given permission to miss the session. Sylvinho will have further tests to determine the extent of the ligament problem in his right knee, which he also suffered in last night’s match.

Jorquera, Milito, Iniesta and Ronaldinho were already on the injury list and, therefore, unable to train.

Recovery exercises

The session focussed on recovery exercises for last night’s starting eleven. Touré, Abidal and Puyol started the session with one of the fitness coaches.
